Grades 1st - 8th are welcome to join the Runner's Club to increase their running stamina. Our goal is to instill a love of running and build enough stamina to complete a 5K.

Music with Ms. Ally

Ms. Ally serves as the music teacher and band director for CMP's Orangevale and American River campuses. Each week, she visits every classroom for a 30-minute music lesson designed to inspire creativity and musical exploration.

Students engage in a comprehensive music curriculum that includes music theory fundamentals, music history, world music traditions, vocal performance, and hands-on experience with both pitched and unpitched percussion instruments. Through interactive lessons featuring peace songs, sing-alongs, and ensemble playing, students develop musical skills while fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Bi-weekly newsletters are shared through ParentSquare, offering families an inside look at classroom activities and providing interactive resources to support learning at home.​​​​​​​

Art with Ms. Ngan Ho

CMP American River students will have the opportunity to explore exciting art activities with Art teacher, Ngan Ho.  Art plays a crucial role in teaching interconnected lessons. This cross-curricular approach to Montessori education provides children with a deeper meaning to their lessons and strengthens their understanding of complex concepts. Ultimately, art connects the hand to the brain in a way that Maria Montessori emphasized as critically important to learning:
