Montessori education emphasizes the inner development of the child’s mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual being. We believe that your child will be most productive in attire that suits our educational setting.

All students are expected to wear appropriate clothing that is clean, free of large or excessive rips and holes, properly fitted, non-violent or distracting, and school-appropriate. Distracting media messages include derogatory comments or slogans, gruesome or violent pictures, illegal substances for children, images of weapons, and/or obscenities.

Additionally

  • Tennis shoes are the preferred style of shoe. Sandals and dress shoes may be worn as long as they are flat and have a back strap. Shoes should not display any flashing lights.
  • Any distracting jewelry, temporary tattoos, piercings, or hairstyles are not permitted. Simple, non-dangling, non-distracting jewelry may be worn. Distracting make-up, body glitter, and perfume/cologne/body spray are not conducive to the learning environment.
  • Tops need to be a minimum of three-finger width on the shoulders, and the torso is covered.
  • No exposed undergarments.
  • Pants/bottoms are to be worn at the height of the hip or above.
  • Shorts/skirts/skorts are to be the length or longer than the student’s fingertips when arms are down.
